ASBESTOS AWARENESS TRAINING For Maintenance Staff Half Day and Full day

ASBESTOS AWARENESS TRAINING FOR MAINTENANCE STAFF

Who is it for?
A basic introduction to asbestos in buildings - for staff that are likely to disturb asbestos as part of their normal work.

It is designed to enable them to do their work safely and prevent unnecessary exposure to asbestos

The course covers the following:

• Asbestos - its sources, properties and applications.
  (using sealed examples of common and some usual materials)
• Health effects and current trends.
• A brief introduction to the law relating to asbestos.
• The role of asbestos registers and management plans.
• What should an employee do if they discover asbestos in the course of their work?
• Methods of safe working with asbestos materials.
• Disposal of asbestos waste.

By liaising with the client, the course can be developed and adapted to refer to or include specific areas of the client’s operations, particularly focussing on issues that are present and utilising the client’s own asbestos policies and procedures.

ASBESTOS AWARENESS TRAINING For the Management of Asbestos in the work place

 

ASBESTOS AWARENESS TRAINING ONE DAY

Who is it for?
The course will be of particular interest to those with a direct or indirect responsibility for the management of asbestos in the workplace. Furthermore, the training is suitable for individuals who will come into contact with asbestos as part of their daily work.                                                                                                                                               This one day course is fully compliant with Regulation 10 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations (CAR) 2006. CAR
This course is based around the core elements of:

• Types and properties of asbestos
• Health effects of exposure to asbestos
• Uses and likely occurrences of asbestos
• Identification and location of asbestos in buildings
• Asbestos containing materials and products
• Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006
• Asbestos legislative guidance and related legislation
• Duty to manage asbestos in non-domestic premises
• Emergency and accident arrangements
• Licensable work and notification requirements
• Types of asbestos surveys
• Avoiding the risks from asbestos
• Asbestos risk assessments
• Control measures to prevent exposure
• Management actions to prevent and reduce exposure
• Group exercises in asbestos management
• Selection of asbestos removal contractors
• Site clearance and certification

ASBESTOS AWARENESS TRAINING ONE DAY

 

ASBESTOS AWARENESS TRAINING 1 DAY

Who is it for?

This One day course is fully compliant with Regulation 10 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations (CAR) 2006. CAR 2006 identified sixteen target groups of workers that require Asbestos Awareness training:
General maintenance and cleaning staff; electricians; plumbers; gas fitters; painters and decorators; joiners; plasterers; demolition workers; construction workers; roofers; heating and ventilation engineers; telecommunication engineers; burglar and fire alarm installers; computer installers; architects, building surveyors and other such professionals; shop fitters.

This course is based around the core elements of:

 

• Asbestos - its sources, properties and applications
• Staff responsibilities and duties
• What is asbestos? - the main properties of asbestos and its effects on health;
• The types and likely occurrences of asbestos and ACMs in premises and plant;
• General procedures to be followed in the event of release of asbestos;
• How to avoid the risks from asbestos.
• A brief introduction to the law relating to asbestos.
• The role of asbestos registers and management plans.

By liaising with the client, the course can be developed and adapted to refer to or include specific areas of the client’s operations, particularly focussing on issues that are present and utilising the client’s own asbestos policies and procedures.

Who is it for?

The course will be of particular interest to those with a direct or indirect responsibility for the management of asbestos in the workplace.
